Maa Kushmanda 4th Navratri : At this time the holy days of Shardiya Navratri are going on. Today 18th October is the fourth day of Shardiya Navratri. On the fourth day of Navratri, there is a tradition of worshiping Maa Kushmanda, the fourth form of Maa Durga. By worshiping them one gets relief from incurable diseases and blessings of Good Health.In mythological stories, Maa Kushmanda creates the Universe.

Maa Kushmanda ka Savroop:


Maa Kushmanda has eight arms. That is why she is also called Ashtabhuja Devi. Maa is holding Aquarius in her right first hand, which is considered a symbol of pregnancy. In the second hand the Goddess holds a Chakra, in the third she holds a mace and in the fourth she holds a rosary chanting the Goddess Siddhis and Nidhis. The left hand is holding a lotus flower in the first hand, a sword in the second, a bow in the third and a kamandal in the fourth. The Maa is riding on her favorite Savari, a lion.

Importance of worshiping Maa Kushmanda:

Kushmanda Maa is a devotee goddess of calm posture, mounted on a lion. By worshiping Shri Kushmanda, one attains the Siddhis of Anahata Chakra awakening. By worshiping Shri Kushmanda, one gets relief from even the most complex diseases, all the troubles go away, all the diseases and sorrows of the devotees are destroyed. Their devotion leads to health as well as longevity and fame. Therefore, on this day, Goddess Kushmanda should be worshiped with complete rituals with a very pure and calm mind.
After worshiping the Maa , Mahadev and the Param Pita should be worshipped.


Meditate (Dhayan) Mantra of Maa Kushmanda:


Before worshiping Maa Kushmanda, pay obeisance to the Goddess with flowers in your hands and Meditate on this Mantra:
“सुरासम्पूर्णकलशं रूधिराप्लुतमेव च। दधानाहस्तपद्याभ्यां कुष्माण्डा शुभदास्तु में॥”

Maa Kushmanda loves Red color, hence red colored flowers like Hibiscus, Red Roses etc. can be offered to her during worship, this pleases the Maa.

Bhog Prasad of Maa Kushmanda (Malpua):


Maa Kushmanda is very happy when offered red roses. On the fourth day of Navratri, Malpua is offered to MATA Kushmanda. On this day, feed some of MATA’s Prasad to the cow also.

Maa Kushmanda ki Pooja Vidhi and Aarti:

In the worship of Maa Kushmanda, offer kumkum, mauli, akshat, betel leaves, saffron and makeup etc. with devotion. If there is a white pumpkin or Kumhra then offer it to Matarani, then recite Durga Chalisa and finally perform the Aarti of Maa Kushmanda with Ghee Deep or camphor.
